Strolling in Khaki

I love travelling. I enjoy exploring. I am also fickle. Often I find myself being so sucked into the vibe and allure of a new place that I start making promises to move there once and for all. However, every time I come back, my heart tells me that Vancouver is where I feel truly at home and the summer here is a constant reminder how much I love this city! When the temperature is right, it's more beautiful than ever.

Because the weather was so nice, we took a stroll in Yaletown and tried out a new restaurant called Kibo Restauarnt and Lounge. They had an interesting selection of sushi and appetizers. The service was great and the atmosphere was inviting. I didn't get a chance to try out their drinks, so I would definitely go back with some friends.

As for the outfit, I just love the versatility of this black utility vest. The collar helps to dress up a casual outfit and to bring out the luxurious leather quality of the heels. The straps are secured by velcro so it's super easy to put on! You know you are doing it right when it looks good and feels comfortable to wear.

Tangerine Meets Seafoam

Since the temperature has made a positive turn in the last couple of weeks, I've been craving lots of fruit smoothies and fresh juices. I made my stop at 8 Juice at Aberdeen for the third time this week, each time picking up my go-to drink - blueberry watermelon smoothie with aloe chunks. Trust me, this drink is MAGICAL.

Today's outfit inspiration comes from the two vibrant spring colours - seafoam and tangerine. I have a confession to make. Yes, sometimes we girls just love giving colours fancy names just to confuse the guys. Sorry but when things sound fancy the value of it seems instantly elevated! Orange may be just another colour in our elementary school crayon box , but tangerine on the other hand, is a thirst-quench burst of refresh on a hot summer's day. The colour romance here between the tangerine and seafoam really brings out the best of two worlds.

Enjoy the sunshine lovelies!

Coral in Caribbean

Hello Lovelies!

I am back from a good two weeks of over-gorging on pure yumminess and immersing in the turquoise and white abyss. We did two back-to-back cruises, spending seven days sailing along West Caribbean and another seven along the East. This was our first port-of-call at a private island called Labadee. This was an absolute shock to my eyes - the clarity of the water and fine white sand. Yup I could just lie there forever. In fact that's exactly what we did - we fell asleep on the beach and snuck in a little nap ;)

More updates to come!

Cecilia

The Art of Flow [Blouse X Long Skirt]

Hi All,

By the time you read this, I'll be on my way to the Caribbean! Woot woot! Don't hate me just yet, because when I get back I promise to share some gorgeous photo from the trip. Since I'll be staying (trapped) on a cruise ship, I won't have much access to internet and cellphone reception. It's almost a technology-free retreat to liberate yourself from your everyday commitments and need for a technology in/on hand.

There's no cruise photos just yet, but here's a series of photos in front of the Art Gallery, post-afternoon tea at the Fairmount Vancouver Hotel. The Art Gallery is such a lovely building, one of the few iconic landmarks with an evident reminiscent of history and architecture. It's probably our closest thing to the MET in Vancouver!

Also, funny story about these vintage sunglasses. When you hear "vintage", you normally think either something passed down from your grandmother or mother or shopping in a cute vintage-inspired thrift store. Neither of these was the case. The real story here is that a co-worker of mine found them in the bushes somewhere and passed them onto me because they thought it would be suitable for me (for hilarity or style I don't actually now..). But here it is! I'd like to think that they are styling =) That's upcycling for ya, and I encourage you all to do it.

Cheers,
Cecilia

Mix & Match [ Floral X Graphics]

Hello Lovelies,

Happy Friday! Who's excited about the weekend?! Whenever the weather's nice and dandy in Vancouver, I'm always in the mood for a nice little stroll in the Kitsilano area. Besides the beach, the myriad of good eats and adorable boutique shops are more reasons to frequent this neighbourhood.

In terms of the outfit, I just REALLY wanted to mix it up. I find the mix and match collar on sweater combo super exciting. There's just so much you can do with this - lace collar on textured sweater, contrasting colours, or even polka dot on stripes - amazing. This flowy top is also super comfortable, so we are really going to be besties when the summer rolls around ;)
